SOLO (2023): TIFF Film Screening and Equality Panel Talk June 20 | 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM TIFF Films are coming to Bruce County, right here on the big screen in the BCM&CC’s Bruce Power Theatre! Discover the best in cinema with four diverse TIFF films from June to November. Our series kicks off in time for Pride Month with the award-winning movie "Solo," a Canadian romantic drama by Sophie Dupuis. Follow Simon, a young emerging Montreal drag queen, as he navigates a passionate romance with Olivier and reconnects with his estranged mother Claire. Following "Solo," engage in a special Pride Month Equality Panel with community guests who will discuss the importance and protection of Queer art, local happenings, and hopes for the future. About the Director “Sophie Dupuis was born in Val d’Or, Quebec, studied at Concordia University and the Université du Québec à Montréal, and is now based in Montreal. Her short films include J'viendrai t'chercher (07), Si tu savais Rosalie (09), Félix et Malou (10), Faillir (12), which played the Festival, and L'hiver et la violence (14).
